To develop the child’s perception of differences in proportion in 3 dimensions and to encourage the perception of a mathematical pattern. An indirect preparation of the child for algebra. Note :In the nursery the presentation of the cube is purely sensorial and the child treats it as a puzzle. The progression to the algebraic formula comes at a much later stage.
